Meet The Team
Dr. Shelby Nelson, DMD
Originally from Spartanburg, SC, Dr. Shelby Nelson knew at a young age she wanted to help people be proud of their smiles. Her philosophy as a general and cosmetic dentist in Brentwood, TN is to work with patients to provide them with their healthiest smiles, using minimally invasive treatment alongside the newest technology and dental materials. She always considers overall health and function when putting together individualized treatment plans. Beyond this, “I love educating patients so that they can understand the goal of their treatment and feel comfortable while in the dental chair,” explains Dr. Nelson.
In 2012, Dr. Nelson attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland to study biology for two years. She completed her degree in biology at Wofford College. After graduating from dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), she moved to Nashville, TN to begin practicing. Dr. Nelson is an active member of the Tennessee State Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and the Spear Institute.
Dr. Nelson is dedicated to a healthy lifestyle where she enjoys running, good food, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her vizsla puppy, Nellie. She is grateful for the opportunity to carry on the long-standing tradition of Brentwood Dental Center and to meet the needs of all patients—existing and new.
